The SMARTER-MAN solution had as an objective to reduce the downtimes, increase performance, efficiency, production reliability, circularity, operability rate (RRR), recyclability, reusability, etc. which were successfully reached. Moreover, with the help of this solution, a new product was developed: “The elastic multifilament cord with an injected plastic ball finish”.

 

Applications mostly are for the outdoor activities (camping) but also for agriculture fixing the crop covers etc. This ball is manufactured with the plastic injected machine and for this machine was necessary to integrate a solution to achieve the objectives mentioned previously. The scope was also to achieve increased energy efficiency, decrease of raw material, customer centricity, on-demand manufacturing.

 

Regarding circular indicators:

CIR1 - The production is automated, the operators are having less operations, time efficiency. Moreover, the planning and estimations are much realistic and is possible to plan shifts, raw material consumption, procurement in time of raw material it is much more intelligent and optimizing and continuous improvement of procurement. It is possible to forecast the inventory procurement, maintenance tools and all necessary resources better as it is more predictable and efficient. The process is clean no water is used.

CIR2 - Through automated production processes, efficient planning, and predictive forecasting, the project optimizes the use of eco-friendly materials. The system's scalability and adaptability further contribute to a broader shift towards a circular economy, reducing environmental impact and fostering the increased adoption of renewable resources within the ecosystem.

CIR3 - By implementing intelligent planning, predictive forecasting, and automated production processes, the project minimizes waste and optimizes resource utilization, aligning with principles of resource efficiency and environmental conservation.

CIR4 - The creation of high-quality and durable goods. This approach not only extends the lifespan of products but also promotes a sustainable and circular economy by reducing the need for frequent replacements, thereby increasing overall product value and longevity.

CIR5 - By optimizing production processes, implementing energy-efficient measures, and promoting sustainable practices, the initiative minimizes the environmental footprint. This proactive approach contributes to a significant reduction in emissions, aligning with broader goals of environmental sustainability and fostering a greener, more eco-friendly manufacturing environment.
